Everything in chemistry involves elements. the elements are listed on a table according to atomic number. this table is called the periodic table. all organisms contain protons, neutrons, and electrons. when two bonds are formed between oppositely charged ions it is called an ionic bond. when a bond is formed by two neutral atoms. there are four groups of molecules that keep life forms functioning. carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids.
